Justice and Peace

The SFO Rule calls for Secular Franciscans to be in the forefront in promoting justice by the testimony of their human lives and their courageous initiatives. Following the example of Francis in his making peace between the wolf and the people of Gubbio, between the bishop and mayor of Assisi, and his attempting peace with the Sultan -- as well as following his example of loving all of creation -- Franciscans are at work at the United Nations and around the world promoting peace, justice and ecology.

[edit] JPIC

Within the Franciscan Family, many times Justice and Peace is abbreviated JPIC. This stands for Justice, Peace and the Integrity of Creation.
