Saint Anthony of Padua
Saint Anthony (1195-1231) is a franciscan fiar. According to Thomas of Celano (a fellow franciscan friar, who wrote some important stories about Saint Francis, just three years after St.Francis dead), whe know that Saint Francis (the man by who started the Franciscan Order) gave St.Anthony permission to teach. The text of the letter in which St.Francis gave his permission was written in Latin, and known under the Latin name: Epistola ad sanctum Antonium (EpAnt). In this short letter, St.Francis makes only one remark at the teaches of St.Antony. His work an his teachings may not spoil the spirt of prair and diminish the dedication to God (from himself, nor his puppils). St. Anthony is possibly the most popular franciscan friar, and known as the patron of all things lost.
